Colombia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has issued arrest warrants for 26 individuals, of which 10 are underage youth, for their alleged involvement in a chopping house in the violence-riddled Pacific coastal city Buenaventura.
On Tuesday, the government announced the arrest of seven individuals, including three 16 year olds who are allegedly part of the Urabeños criminal group.

The seven captured yesterday, will bring the number of arrests related to the chopping house to 12.
The individuals are wanted for their supposed involvement in the dismemberment of Maryori Tatiana Parra and four other murders. The individuals will be charged with the crimes of forced disappearance, aggravated homicide, torture, and conspiracy.

The prosecutor general’s spokesperson thanked forensics for the arrests because at the chopping house they were able to find biological evidence that identified those present in the house. It is rare that authorities find a dismembered body in the actual chopping house where the person was murdered, making forensics much less effective.
When authorities arrived at the scene, the woman’s body had been dismembered and was already in plastic bags.
