Colombian police said they have seized approximately 6,5 tons of marijuana in the same region in less than one week.

In an operation in the southwestern department of Valle del Cauca Tuesday, Colombian police seized 3.9 tons of marijuana hidden underneath a shipment of passion fruit. A truck driver along with a 17-year-old alleged helper was arrested in the operation.

This bust came only days after Colombian police, on Sunday, seized nearly 2,6 tons of the illicit drug in the same department. In this operation one person was captured.

The latest police operation was carried out at a road checkpoint between the towns of Buga and Andalucia. The truck was allegedly from Valle, with the country’s capital Bogota as destination.

Sunday’s operation was carried out near the town of Palmira, at less than 40 miles from where Tuesday’s drugs were found.
