Police in Bogotá are paying extra attention to traffic entering the capital. Police officers are ordered to check cars and trucks for weapons and explosives. Colonel Jorge Rodríguez told Caracol Radio the city’s been divided into rings of security, making sure the situation remains under control.Alonso Salazar, mayor of Colombia’s second largest city Medellín told reporters there have been no records of disturbances so far. Salazar stressed the authorities have complete control over the city and will do anything to prevent any disturbance of order.The mayor added that the consequences of the extradition may come later. Authorities in the city are alert for potential clashes between groups that want to control the drug market, now there possible may have occured a power vacuum in Antioquia’s underworld.
