A Bogota man from the district of Kennedy murdered three of his relatives Tuesday, including his ex-wife, after she refused to get back together with him at a chicken rotisserie.
The killer arrived at the rotisserie where he found his ex-wife and asked for her back. When she said “no,” he shot her twice in the head. He went on to kill his sister-in-law and her husband during the rampage.
The murderer fled the scene in a taxi while an 11-year old girl watched in horror from a hiding spot. She became one of the key witnesses to the police investigation, who are actively pursuing the assassin.
According to Bogota officials, there have been 1,443 homicides in the capital city this year, which is 119 less than last year at 1,562. However, Kennedy is one of the most dangerous areas of town with an increased murder rate of 10% over the past year.
