Colombian journalist dies of heart attack

Colombian journalist Esperanza Serrano died of a heart attack in Miami, newspaper Noticiero el Llano reported Monday.

Serrano, a native of Villavicencio, worked at several radio stations in Bogota, including RCN and Caracol, and served as the secretary of information and press for the government of the Meta department.

Serrano was “a kind and generous woman, a community servant, a lover of the arts and poetry,” according to coworkers from the Noticiero el Llano.
