Colombian fusion band Aterciopelados release new video

Colombian music duo Aterciopelados released the video for their new single “Ataque de risa” (Attack of Laughter) on Tuesday, taken from their 2008 album “Rio,” reported El Espectador.

The Latin-rock fusion group from Bogota, consisting of members Andrea Echeverri and Hector Buitrago, has been championed by international media – including Time magazine, which wrote “Aterciopelados’s true skill lies in its ability to take north-of-the-border musical styles … and breathe new life into them, all while giving them a distinctly Colombian sheen.”

The band are one of Colombia’s most famous modern music groups and in 2007 gained further recognition when they won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album, for “Oye.”
