Colombian authorities claim thwarting attack on President’s plane

Colombian prosecution investigators Thursday captured a FARC guerrilla
who is suspected of having planned an attack on the airplane used by
President Alvaro Uribe.

According to information on a computer seized from guerrilla ‘The Black Antonio’, Freddy Julian Urquijo alias ‘Francis’ possessed maps of military air base Catam that would help him to attack the President’s plane.

‘Francis’ was arrested in Hill Country, north of Bogota. During the capture, prosecutors found documents containing the license plate numbers for vehicles of Conservative presidential candidate Andres Felipe Arias.

Authorities accuse him of belonging to mobile FARC column ‘Antonio Nariño’, operating in Colombia’s capital.
