Colombian authorities arrest alleged Venezuelan spy at Bogota march

Colombian authorities arrested a Venezuelan air force sergeant they say was
spying on people taking part in the Bogota march against Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez Friday, the news website CM& reported.

According to the Bogota Metropolitan Police, sergeant Pedro Jose Carreño of the Venezuelan air force was rescued when protesters intended to lynch the suspect. He had been caught taking pictures of people in the march.

The Venezuelan entered Colombia on March 28 legally and worked for the Venezuelan embassy in Bogota, authorities say.

The suspected spy was taken into custody by intelligence agency DAS.
