Colombian armed forces dismantle drug labs

The Colombian National Army on Tuesday claimed to have dismantled two drug production facilities, seizing more than 800 kilograms of coca paste.

According to an press release, the army dismantled a cocaine laboratory belonging to former guerrilla organization EPL In the northern department of Norte de Santander. Over 800 kilos of cocaine were found on the spot, according to the army.

In the southwestern Cauca department, the army said that several hundred kilos of material used to process cocaine were seized from a clandestine factory belonging to an unspecified drug trafficking organization.

Both the Norte de Santander and the Cauca department have been highly affected by drug trafficking because of their strategic locations.
