Colombia’s Avianca to expand network

The Colombian airline Avianca will increase its workload as it implements more flight plans to destinations in the Americas, reported local media on Wednesday.

The airline will add 1,880 seats a week to flights to eight destinations across the U.S., the Caribbean and South America. In compliance with their expansion plan and improvement of service, Avianca will more specifically offer international seats to Miami, New York, Orlando, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Havana, Rio de Janeiro and La Paz.

“With the expansion of the service from the hub of Avianca in Bogota, we seek to offer greater connectivity across the continent, while maximizing the benefits of the new international terminal of the Colombian capital,” said the Executive Chairman of Avianca, Fabio Villegas Ramirez, referring to the modern terminal recently inaugurated in the El Dorado airport of Bogota.

Avianca currently offers over 17,000 seats to these destinations and with the strengthening of their network will increase their capacity by 11%.
