Colombian advertising firm ranked most effective world-wide

A Bogota based advertising firm was ranked as the most effective individual agency in the world at the Cannes Creativity Festival, Dinero.com reported Thursday.

Sancho BBDO was ranked number one at the festival which, in addition to honoring films, also provides a competition for advertising agencies and other communications professionals.

As many as 24,000 companies from 90 different companies competed in this year’s festival. In addition to receiving a number one ranking, Sancho BBDO also won a Golden Lion for its Chevrolet campaign and a silver for its Lukafe Coffee campaign.

The distinction marked a new highpoint for Carlos Felipe Arango, the CEO of the company. As he recalled the moment when he was told of his company’s ranking, Arango said that he “almost starts to mourn for the emotion.” The CEO has worked for the company for 20 years. Arango grandfather founded the advertising firm in 1936.
