Colombia wins first medal on Paralympics

Fuentes, born in Bucaramanga, finished after Spaniard Ricardo Ten and Daniel Dias from Brazil.

“I have mixed feelings,” Fuentes told Colombian media. “On one hand I feel joy for being on the podium. God gave me a little more life and now I’m here. But I also feel sadness because I could’ve done better,” he added.

It’s not the first time the swimmer wheels away with a medal. The 34-year old Fuentes won bronze at the world championchip swimming in Durban in 2006.
