Colombia warns neighbors about possible expansion of drug related crime

Chief Prosecutor Mario Iguarán warned Colombia’s neighboring countries
for a possible expansion of drug trafficking and illegal armed groups
on their territories.

Iguarán, meeting with Prosecutors from all over latin America in Cartagena, urged his colleagues to adopt all necessary measures to prevent the activity of drug traffickers outside Colombia.

The Chief Prosecutor called to develop laws and tools to allow the dismantling of possible “trans-national drug trafficking and terrorist organizations” Caracol Radio reported Sunday.

If not, Iguarán said, the neighboring countries “could face the same difficult experiences as Colombia in terms of international crimes like drug trafficking and terrorism.”
