Colombia stormed to the top of the medal tally at the South American Games on Wednesday, sprinting ahead of Brazil and Venezuela.
Wednesday’s action saw Colombia win gold medals in inline speed skating, with Cartagena’s Jercy Puello winning the women’s 300m individual time trial in the world record time of 26.300 seconds in front of an raptuous home crowd.
Pedro Causil won gold in the men’s 300 meter time trial at the Maria Luisa Calle track in Medellin.
Colombia now has a total of 184 medals, with Brazil a close second on 164 and Venezuela a distant third with 95.
