Colombia has been chosen to hold the 2015 International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC), which will see the Latin American nation receive 115 policemen from around the world, reported national newspaper El Tiempo on Friday.
This year, the 30th annual conference was held in Russian capital Moscow from Wednesday to Friday and was attended by heads of the police services of over 100 countries, who all put forward their proposals on the war-on-drugs. At the conference, Colombia’s police force was elected to hold the event in two years time.

According to the Leon, who attended this year’s conference in Moscow, Colombia was elected for the 2015 event in an unanimous vote.
IDEC was established in 1983, with the aim of bringing drug law enforcement officials from the Americas
The 2015 conference will be the second time Colombia hosts this anti-drug conference, as Cartagena held the event in 1991.
