Colombia Reports readers skeptical about peace talks’ success

A Colombia Reports readers poll on Friday showed similar skepticism about a positive outcome of peace talks between the government the FARC as showed by a recent poll among Colombians.

Of 500 votes that came in between September 5 and September 21, only 35.8% was optimistic about the outcome of negotiations that start October 8 in Norway. 38.2% was pessimistic and 26% said to not know.

Peace talks between Colombia and the FARC will be successful

While Colombia Reports’ readership does not reflect Colombian society — 82% of the website’s readers is located outside the Latin American country, the results are similar to a recent poll held in Colombia by Ipsos-Napoleon in which 41% of the respondents said to be pessimistic about the outlook of the talks.
