Colombia last month continued to increase its crude oil production, marking a 5.31% increase for the month of April compared with the same month last year, the mining ministry said Thursday.
The ministry revealed that an average of 1.006,799 barrels were produced per day in April 2013, compared to 956.000 barrels per day (bpd) for the same period in 2012.
This month’s announcement follows the 10.9% growth reported for the month of February, in spite of a reported surge of attacks on production lines by left-wing rebel group FARC. Attacks on the oil industry in April dropped significantly.

This month the government body reported that production was slowed by technical restrictions in some wells requiring maintenance, but maintained that the figure demonstrates a steady and sustainable rise in crude oil production for the year.
