FIFA is happy with the progress of Colombia’s stadiums for the FIFA Under-20 soccer World Cup that will kick-off in July, reported El Espectador.

In a recent visit to El Campin stadium in Bogota, Resch said, “This visit was very positive and we have to say congratulations to Mayor Samuel Moreno and his team, because now Bogota has a real stadium and it is very modern and nice.” El Campin will host 10 world cup matches, including the grand final.
FIFA recently expressed concerns about the quality of some training grounds during their last visit in March, however Resch said, “with respect to previous visits, the change was huge not only in Bogota, but every city in Colombia.”
Mayor Moreno also expressed his satisfaction over the progress of El Campin and said he has received backing from FIFA so that Bogota will become the FIFA headquarters during the tournament.
The biggest international sporting event to ever take place in Colombia will host 24 teams from around the world plus many more fans. Matches begin on July 29, 2011.
