Uribe contracts AH1N1 flu in Argentina

Official sources confirmed on Sunday that Colombian President Alvaro Uribe
contracted the AH1N1 flu on his trip to Argentina where he attended a
special summit of South American leaders.

According to Social Welfare Minister Diego Palacio, Uribe suffered a severe flu on Saturday, one day after the meeting on Colombia’s plans to allow U.S. troops access to Colombian military bases.

Palacio told reporters the President is responding well to treatment.

Uribe’s spokesman told reporters the President will continue working, despite his illness.

To date, 621 cases of swine flu have been recorded in Colombia of which
