Colombia’s National Police have offered more than $11 thousand for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of a National Police lieutenant, local media reported on Tuesday.
Police Chief Lieutenant Ivan Dario Pedraza on Monday was assassinated in northern Colombia allegedly by members of the criminal gang, “Los Rastrojos.” The lieutenant was reportedly in the company of three other police officers when he sustained two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Dario was transferred to a nearby hospital where he died shortly after.
The police commander of the Norte de Santander department told local media that the police are still in the dark over who specifically was behind the killing, but they have offered the $11 thousand in an attempt to entice anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward.
