Colombia police find 1600kg of pot in dried fish

Police said Monday they have seized more than 1,600 kilograms of marijuana hidden in a shipment of dried fish in central Colombia.

The drugs were found after a tip leading police investigators to a truck traveling from the southwestern Cauca department to Cundinamarca, the department neighboring the capital Bogota.

According to the authorities, the drugs was meant for domestic consumption and had a street value of approximately $185,000.

The driver of the truck was taken into custody.
