Colombia introduces visa-free regime for Russians

Colombia starting from Monday is introducing a
visa-free travel regime for Russian citizens. The corresponding
resolution was adopted by the Colombian Foreign Ministry in early
March.

It is said in the document that “the visa-free
regime is introduced for 3 categories of Russian citizens coming to the
country for a term of up to 90 days: tourists, technical specialists
and persons temporarily entering the country.”

The Colombian embassy in Moscow explained earlier
that “the cancellation of visas is linked with Bogota’s desire to
considerably increase the inflow of Russian tourists to Colombia.”
About 10,000 Russians annually visit this Latin American country. (Itar-Tass)
