Colombia economy grew 4.3% in 2010: Govt

Colombia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 4.3% in 2010, a little below the 4.5% the government had anticipated.

According to state statistics agency DANE, the economic growth was strongest in the last quarter of the year when the GDP grew 4.6%.

DANE Director Jorge Bustamente said the economic results of 2010 show the country is on the road to recovery from the economic recession that hit the country following the international economic crisis in 2009.
