Colombia court rejects acquittal of extradited drug lord

A Bogota court on Thursday denied a request to annul the trial against an extradited Colombian drug trafficker.

His defense noted that prosecution is not required and there are some solid grounds for annulment, however the plea was dismissed by the court.

Rasguño will face charges of illicit enrichment and money laundering.

The 54-year old suspect became one of the main capos of the now-defunct Norte del Valle cartel in the 1990s . He was arrested in Cuba in 2004.
