Colombia breaks production of 1 million barrels of oil a day

Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos announced on Sunday that Colombia produced over one million barrels of oil the day before.

“We had said at some time during the four years, we were going to produce more than one million barrels of oil a day,” said Santos.

Reaching a production of 1.115 million barrels of oil, Colombia surpassed its target of producing one million barrels of oil in a day.

Colombia’s Minister of Mines, Federico Renjifo attributed the growth in oil production to work in areas such as Castilla, Chichimene, and Putumayo.
