Colombia assigns first ever female general

Luz Marina Bustos is Colombia’s first ever general. She was appointed
Thursday by Colombian Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos and National
Police director Oscar Naranjo.

Bustos, who’d been on the force for 27 years until today was colonel and financial director of the National Police. She is one of the few women in the world in such a high security position.
