Colombian authorities said Monday they have arrested a prominent Venezuelan drug trafficker who had an outstanding international arrest warrant against him.
The suspect, Julian Hernando Diaz Porras, was arrested in Norte de Santander, a north-Colombian department bordering the Venezuelan state of Zulia.
Diaz Porra is wanted by international police organization Interpol to face drug trafficking charges in his home country.
According to the charges, he trafficked cocaine from Colombia to the Venezuelan capital of Caracas between 2004 and 2007.
