Colombia and Brazil join forces for training maneuvers

The Colombian and Brazilian armies have carried out joint training maneuvers in the Caribbean.

The armed forces of Colombia and Brazil on Monday began combined exercises in search and rescue, maritime intervention, communications, accident and other maneuvers in the Caribbean reported El Espectador.

The Brazilian navy ship BNS Greenhalgh, was docked in Colombia’s northern port of Cartagena in readiness to participate in exercises, named Operation Cobra. The Brazilian ship will be joined by the Colombian destroyer ARC Caldas.

The operation is part of a series of international training exercises carried out by the Colombian navy in order to increase the readiness of vessels and crew.

The same type of operations have been carried out with the Netherlands and France.
