Colombia al Parque set shake Bogota’s hips

Bogota will play host to festival goers as Colombia Al Parque kicks off on Saturday.

Primarily a celebration of all things musical there will also be demonstrations of different cuisines from all over the country. With free entry, this event will be a good opportunity to experience a variety of musical genres in what is described as “a 100% Colombian” setting.

The festival has been running for twelve years and sees a selection of Colombian and international artists.

International guests such as Diblo Dibala, renowned Congolese soukous musician, who will feature alongside home-grown talent including the form of Orlando “Cholo” Valderrama whose career has spanned thirty years and the celebrated Orange Hill, a dynasty of musicians who have been pleasing crowds for sixty years.

The festival will take place from 27-28 July in Bogota’s Parque Los Novios with gates opening at 11 am. Music will commence from 12pm and continue through the day until 11pm. Organisers are warning against excess consumption of alcohol as those who are heavily intoxicated will not be allowed to gain entry.
