Chocquibtown nominated for Grammy

Colombian act Chocquibtown has been nominated for a 2011 Grammy, the organizers of the award show announced.

The group, who come from the city of Quibdo in Colombia’s Choco region, which borders on the Pacific coast, received a nomination in the “Best Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album” category, together with Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Draco Rosa, Texas-based Latin funk orchestra Grupo Fantasma, Mexican electonic act Bostich+Fussible and French-Peruvian singer Ana Tijoux.

Chocquibtown won a Latin Grammy earlier this year for the album Oro, the same that is nominated this time.
