Coca-Cola confirms plan to export Colombian fruit juices

Coca-Cola and Proexport announced Thursday that they will bring the most important members of their organizations to try three Colombian fruit juices, including the delicious mango, lulo, and blackberry, with the objective of exporting them abroad, reported El Espectador.

Agricultural producers in Cundinamarna, Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, and Santander departments will be able to have their fruit juices in North America, Western Europe, and Asia, because of the new Coca-Cola partnership that seeks to popularize the juices currently being sold under the Colombian brand Valle.

“We are looking to increase the potential of these exotic fruits and increase their sales abroad, and the best part is that the name of Colombia will be associated with one of the most important brands in the world. The presentation of these three juices will be revealed to over 50 subsidiaries of Coca-Cola,” explained Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of Proexport.

Public Relations Manager of Coca-Cola Colombia, Marco Llinas, explained that already 45% of the fruits Coca-Cola uses are Colombian, which was one of the main reasons they realized they should sign the new alliance with Proexport. “There is a strong interest in Colombian agriculture and a huge market abroad, and we want to see how we can connect the two,” Llinas remarked.

The presentation of the fruit juices will be given in both Spanish and English and will describe the benefits of the Colombian fruits, including details of the harvest, nutritional content, and medical benefits.
