Coach unveils Colombian selection for Under-20 Women’s World Cup

Colombian coach Ricardo Rozo announced his selection for the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Germany next month.

The Colombian team won the South American championship in Bucaramanga, securing a spot for the World Championship. In Europe, the girls face opposition from France, hosts Germany and Costa Rica.

Of the 21 players selected by Rozo, seventeen play in Colombia while the remaining four are active in the United States.

The selection:

Liana Salazar, Jessica Sanchez, Natalia Ariza, Tatiana Ariza, Lady Andrade, Paula Forero, Hazleydi Rincón, Jackeline Fonseca and Natalia Gaitan (Liga de Futbol de Bogota).

Daniela Montoya and Alexandra Avendaño (Liga Antioqueña de Futbol).

Carolina Arias, Melissa Cepeda and Ingrid Vidal (Liga Vallecaucana de Futbol).

Lina Marcela Taborda (Liga de Futbol del Quindio).

Yulieth Domínguez and Katerin Castro (Liga de Futbol del Tolima).

Melissa Ortiz, (University-Florida-USA), Ana María Montoya (Lake Oswego Soccer Club-USA), Vanessa Aponte (Florida Rush- USA) and Catalina Perez (Team Boca-USA).

The tournament is scheduled to start on July 13, but the Colombian team will travel earlier for friendly games against local club teams.
