Chilean president in Colombia

Chilean President Sebastian Piñera on Wednesday paid his first official visit to Colombia, Colombian government’s offical website reports.

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said that “this is the first official Chilean state visit to Colombia and we expect to form a great partnership.”

Chile and Colombia will aim to strengthen economic ties and discuss further exchanges of social development programs.

The Chilean head of state will meet with his Colombian counterpart Juan Manuel Santos, with the Congress, judges of the Supreme Court and the Mayor of Bogota during his visit.

The Chilean president also announced that Chili will donate $84,700 of humanitarian aid for the Colombians who have been affected by the prolonged rainy season.
