Chavez regrets AH1N1 infection Uribe

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Monday he regrets his Colombian
counterpart Alvaro Uribe contracted the AH1N1, or swine flu, virus.

The two Heads of State clashed Friday in Argentina over the expansion of U.S. military activity in Colombia. Uribe alleged contracted the new flu on his travels to the Argentinean ski resort Bariloche.

Chavez himself says to not have contracted the virus while traveling to Bariloche for the UNASUR meeting on Colombia. “I have nothing. I am so well that yesterday I made ten innings [in a baseball game with his ministers]. We were running for three hours and I sang, the Venezuelan President said.

Chavez is convinced Uribe will recover from the flu that killed more than 30 people in Colombia so far. “I am sure Uribe will recover. He is a young man and I know he works out.”

Colombian Health authorities announced Uribe’s flu Sunday, but say the President is responding well to medication. According to the President’s spokesman, Uribe continues working, despite his illness.
