Central Colombia road tragedy kills 9

At least nine people died and another twenty were left injured on Sunday morning when two buses collided 15 miles south west of Bogota.

A local police commander told radio station Caracol that the brakes of one of the buses malfunctioned and lost control after which it crashed into an upcoming bus.

One of the buses was transporting from Bogota to Chinauta, while the other was an intercity service transporting people from teh south of the country to the capital.

Authorities closed off the road connecting Bogota to Cali, Popayan and Pasto.
