Central Bank to buy dollars if appropriate

Colombia’s central bank will buy dollars in the spot currency market when appropriate, Governor Jose Dario Uribe said.

Uribe, speaking to reporters in Bogota, said the bank is “always prepared” to purchase dollars, though such a move isn’t “imminent.” The bank is studying other ways to act in the foreign exchange market, he said.
