Former TV presenter will strip naked if elected to Congress

A female candidate for Colombia’s House of Representatives promised on Monday to pose nude in a magazine if she gets voted into Congress in the upcoming elections.

According to Maria Fernanda Valencia, candidate for the coalition Partido de la U in the capital Bogota, her stripping naked in men’s magazine Soho will “send a political message.”

“The nudity is a means to send the message and that message is that I will fight for women’s rights,” the former television presenter said on radio station W.

Valencia’s nude photo shoot will be “artistic,” she assured the public in her interview.

The aspiring politician admitted that it is hard for a newcomer in Colombian politics to get the necessary votes to be able to represent the people in Congress.
