The poster that will promote Colombia’s biggest salsa event in the southern Colombian city of Cali has been chosen, national media reported Monday.
This year marks the 57th Feria de Cali, which takes place every December in the country’s third largest city and the event ran a competition this year’s poster.
Out of 138 designs entered, a 21-year-old graphic design student from Bogota cam out on top, Colombia’s El Tiempo newspaper reported on Monday.
The poster, which is a key tool for promoting the event portrays an Afro-Colombian woman who radiates joy through her large smile.

According to El Tiempo, this year’s theme was ‘The capital of Joy” and Jorge Tadeo Lozano, the winner of the competition, managed to create a poster that transmits festivity, cheer and bliss.
Feria de Cali is a major drawcard for thousands of tourists across Colombia and the world who come to enjoy the salsa music and dance.
