Bus services suspended over FARC threats

Buses services in certain areas of the Colombian departments of Meta, Guaviare and Arauca are suspended due to threats from guerrilla group the FARC.

Luis Eduardo Ataya Arias, governor of the eastern border department of Arauca, said that the local government had decided to close the Antioquia, Arauc and Betoyes sectors of the Tame – Arauca highway at night time, following incidents of insecurity registered in the region last Thursday.

Arauca bus services are suspended for the same reason, while bus companies decided to suspend services to the south of Meta and Guaviare due to security concerns.
