Bogota’s Secretary of Environment, Juan Antonio Nieto, has contracted the AH1N1 flu, local media reported.
Nieto is quarantined in his home and receives treatment with the AH1N1 vaccine Tamiflu. According to the Ministry of Health, Nieto is out of danger and no family members or colleagues show signs of contagion.
The Secretary of Environment believes that the virus is in the air in Bogota. He did not travel outside the country or had contact with people infected by the so-called swine flu.
According to the latest report by the Ministry of Social Protection, 29 people have died because of the influenza and 507 are confirmed to carry the AH1N1 virus.
