Crowds will be flocking to Colombia’s capital on the weekend of July 3, as Bogota gets ready to host its 16th Rock al Parque music festival.
The three-day sound extravaganza is the biggest open-air rock festival in all of Latin America, with three stages and performances by over 60 bands from around the world.
Some of the big names to be hitting the stage include Shadow Fall, Def con Dos, K-93, Providencia, Hello Seahorse!, Estados Alterados and many, many more.
What started back in 1995 as a local event to promote local youth culture has now grown to an immense festival with bands from all parts of the world, representing all types of music. Crowds will also get the chance to see the festival’s special 15th anniversary documentary “At 15 you’re already big” on Monday 5.
And what’s more – you wont have to pay a penny! Rock al Parque is renowned for being one of the world’s biggest festivals that offers free entry for everyone.
Be sure to take along your ID and maybe wear rubber boots. With some 500,000 people expected to attend, things may get muddy…
Rock al Parque will take place from July 3 to July 5 in Bogota’s Simon Bolivar park. Gates will officially open at 12.00 on Saturday.
