Colombia’s hottest music festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota announces a stellar line-up of international and national artists.
The festival’s confirmed headliners including Brazilian rock band Cansei de Ser Sexy (Brazil), The Sounds (Sweden), Puerto Rican reggaeton giants Calle 13, Hercules and Love Affair (New York), electro-rock group Modex (Argentina), The Twelves (Brazil), Australia electronic duo The Presets and Mexican indie rock group Zoe.
Friday’s LCD Soundsystem concert in Bogota marks the official launch of the festival, which opens in Bogota April 9.
In addition to the popular international groups coming from around the world to perform at the outdoor festival, Estereo Picnic will showcase the best sounds Colombia has to offer from cumbia to electronica.
Colombian artists to play the festival include Providencia, The Mills, Profetas, Radio Rebelde, Frente Cumbiero, V for Volume, Ciegossordomudos, Sexy Lucy, Alfonso Espriella, Bendito, Remaj7, Monsieur Perine, Purple Zippers y LSCFJ.
The Estereo Picnic Festival will take place outdoors with multiple stages, plenty of spaces to relax, food stalls, a vintage market, and art pieces. The live bands and DJs will play from 10 am on Saturday 9 until 3 am Sunday morning.
“Festival Estero Picnic 2010 was a huge hit,” a Re-Buena Onda Productions representative Paola Casasbuenas told Colombia reports. The festival drew big names like 2 Many DJs, the Mexican Sound Institute and Matisyahu and and over 4,500 fans. With the long list of artists from around the world Casasbuenas expects this year to be even bigger.
“I feel that Bogota is becoming an interesting place for artists because we are putting on this festival scene. We put on music of all kinds, good music with good energy, offering the people the best in entertainment ,” said Casabuenas.
