Bogota Transmilenio crash leaves 3 dead, 28 injured

At least three people died and 28 were injured when a bus from Bogota’s
mass transit system Transmilenio crashed into a smaller bus Tuesday in
the south of the capital.

Local authorities told newspaper El Tiempo that the two vehicles crashed around 3:30PM at the corner of Calle 55 Sur with Avenida Caracas.

According to newspaper El Espectador, the Transmilenio bus avoided a motorcyclist who was driving in the bus lane, but crashed head on into the smaller bus.

Seventeen ambulances were sent to the accident site to attend to the large number of injured.
