Bogota tourism portal says ‘plop!’

Bogota’s main government tourism portal in English has mysteriously disappeared and now only says “plop!”

According to Wikipedia, “plop” is in onomatopoeic term for the sound of an object falling onto a surface of water.” What this has to do with tourism in Colombia’s capital is unclear.

Visitors looking for English-language information on Bogota can enter the Spanish-language tourism portal and click English, which displays tourism content instead of “plop.”

Bogota receives most foreign visitors of all Colombian cities.

Colombia Reports tried to call the tourism department for a reaction, but the phone mentioned on the website was cut off.
