Bogota to host festival on open souce software

Colombian capital Bogota on Saturday is hosting Latin America’s largest festival on freeware and open source software.

Hundreds of developers, webmasters and what-nots will take part in the many conferences, workshops, expositions, demonstrations and a tournament in software-installation.

The use of open-source software in Latin America is particularly common, because of the general lack of financial resources for the relatively expensive software products.

The festival will be held from 9AM until 7PM in the Instituto Distrital para la Recreación y el Deporte (Calle 63 #47-06).
