Bogota sets new world record for Rumba session

While the summer festival continues in Bogota, organizers and attendees can all delight in the fact that a new world record has been set in Colombia’s capital.

While the record for largest Rumba class, a popular fusion of dance and aerobics, had been previously set in the Mexican city of Iztapalapa in 2010, participants at Bogota’s annual summer festival beat that figure on Thursday.

The event in Mexico saw some 6,630 people take part but the massive effort of organisers and festival goers alike resulted in 7,052 people participating in Thursday’s world record attempt.
