Bogota policeman shoots at transvestite

Bogota police fired on a group of transvestites, causing one to hurt her leg, newspaper El Espectador reported Tuesday.

Apparantly, the uniformed officer fired in self-defense when he was attacked by one with a spray can of gas.

No one was shot, but someone on the scene named Carolain fell down and hurt her leg.

The tussle occurred in northern Bogota on the intersection of Calle 102 and Carrera 15. The location is a popular haunt for transvestites, who neighbors say cause trouble in the area.

Carolain says she will sue the police officer who caused her injury.
