Bogota police arrests two suspects in radio station car bomb case

Bogota police arrested two men suspected of involvement in the car bomb attack on the building of one of Colombia’s most popular radio stations.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, one man who said he had switched license plates on the car that was later used for the bomb turned himself in voluntarily, but denied knowing the car would later be used as a car bomb. According to several media reports, the man offered to give the names of three others allegedly involved in the terrorist attack.

Police also arrested a man who had provided the false license plate.

Both men are held in custody and are suspected of being common criminals and not directly linked to any of the country’s illegal armed groups.

The Thursday attack injured nine persons and caused millions in material damage
