Bogota police find $20M in car

Police in the Colombian capital Bogota found more than $20 million inside a parked car, local media reported Tuesday.

According to W Radio, the car was parked at a parking lot on the corner of Avenida Boyaca and Carrera 53 in the upscale north of the city.

Police had already confirmed $22 million, but were still counting, the radio station reported on Tuesday morning.

The latest find follows the seizure in Bogota of $12 million in cash from one car, and $16 million from another, within two days of each other in early September. The authorities are investigating whether these stashes are related to the Mexican Betran Leyva drug cartel.
