Bogota police capture ‘FARC militant’ accused of bus attacks

Bogota police said Monday they have captured a FARC militant suspected of plotting several bus attacks in the capital over the past four years.

Police arrested Juan Manuel Rubiano Sepulveda, alias “Diego,” last week in an internet cafe in the south of Bogota.

The alleged FARC militant is suspected of planning and directing at least 11 attacks on public transport in the capital between 2007 and 2009.

Diego will be tried for conspiracy and rebellion.

Authorities said they believe Diego has been a member of FARC for the past ten years after completing his studies at Bogota’s National University.
